Favorite Parts of Shadow of Israphel!

So I was looking for something to blog about... and I surprisingly wasn't in the mood to check the forums, and I didn't want to go delving into the episodes searching for information about some theory or inside tip. So I am going to do something simple: talk about my favorite episodes of SoI. I like them all, but there are some that I think are better than the rest. I am going to put them in chronological order, not in the order of my favorite. :)

Part 3: I DEMAND YOUR FINEST BACON
I really like this part because it is not only hilarious but a lot of new characters are really seen, like Granny_Bacon and Skylord_Jasper. It is also where Honeydew and Granny_Bacon really start to hit it off. Their sexual humor and the references they make while Xephos and Skylord_Lysander left Honeydew and Granny_Bacon to go on the tour makes me laugh every time I watch it. Although I am more of a fan of the Honeybel paring (Honeydew/Isabel_Peculier), I think that the combo of a dwarf and an old lady is more humorous. Also it is the first time they mention any possibility of Skylord_Lysander being homosexual. I think here it was just a reference to his pink carpet, but I like that even though it was probably unintentional it turned into a funny relationship between him and Skylord_Jasper. The tennis scene in the episode is a little boring, but it is kinda funny to watch them thinking they can actually play with snowballs and wooden shovels. Finally the graveyard scene made me laugh with some of those names... and Skylord_Lysander's reaction to Xephos trying to dig up Israphel's grave was priceless.

Part 8: Diggy Diggy Hole
2 Words: The Song

Part 14: The Tale of the Sands
This episode is cool in my opinion mainly because of the cut scene. It is the first real cut scene they did in the series, and was well done. I love that Templar_Adaephon's voice is like Grizwald... lol It also introduces a vital part of the plot: the association of the Antioch family to the story and the premise behind this terrible sand. This episode was also unavailable for a time, when Pirate_Tinman was having issues with the Yogscast and for some reason and made a copyright claim against the Yogscast and had it taken down for a while. The claim was ultimately found malicious and unjustified, and luckily it was put back up shortly after. :)

Part 26: The Mansion
This is probably my favorite part to watch. I have the part where they are talking to Skylord_Jasper memorized, and I love reciting it... "Do you like bees?" :P I also think Um_Bongo is one of the funniest characters, and his signature "Take a me with you!" phrase is so hilarious every time it is said. I also love the idea of a Fungeon, and Skylord_Lysander freaking out at the TNT cracks me up.

Part 38: The Hand
Now like all my other faves this episode makes me laugh, but I also like it for the quality. It is a nice long episode at seconds over 28 minutes. If I could decide, I would make every episode around this length. Also, the incorporation of the little flashbacks while Templar_Enoch's notes are being read is really clever and it flows well. The discovery of his death was funny, and I enjoyed watching them smoke pipes and slap each other with zombie limbs. Also, *spoiler if you haven't seen it yet* Knight_Peculier's death was so shocking the first time I saw it. I literally flipped. And it still brings the same core feeling every time I watch it. It was well planned, and even if Simon and Lewis were informed of how that would play out, their acting in the reaction wasn't too bad and was believable. *Kiss :)

So there are my 5 favorite parts of the series. I found it funny 4 out of the 5 are from the 2011 episodes. I guess I just like classic SoI. :) What are your favorite episodes and why? Feel free to comment ;) I love getting comments, because even though I can track page views (We are over 1000! yay) comments make me feel like people are really appreciating the content. I am going to try my hardest to post more and get the blog out there for Yognau(gh)ts to see!

About Me :)

So I have posted 13 blog posts (oooh spooky! :P) and I never really introduced myself. Now I know you didn't come here to read about me... lol. But since I have all this time, and I never did this, I might as well do it now. I am going to limit myself to my Minecraft life, because my personal life is personal. (One personal detail... I am 20. A lot of people think on Minecraft that I am some little kid, but like I said before, I am in college) :)

So my Minecraft name is greeniegirl0506. I bought Minecraft right after it came out in Beta. My younger brother got it in Alpha and he was playing it all the time. We were also watching the original Yogscast minecraft series at the time. I really wanted to play and not just watch, my brother wouldn't let me build on his, and I had a job, so I got my own.

My current skin - Just changed it recently. Also has headphones on the side and the hood is also part of the hat :)

I am an avid player of adventure maps, and I also like to free build solo and with friends. I sometimes also like to make skins for girls, and I have a whole computer file folder of them. I also love the idea of the Hunger Games servers, but I am not good at finding things and I often try to use my charm to stay alive and offer friendship to others. I played once with ChimenySwift, which was probably the coolest thing ever (next to getting to play with Lewis and Simon if given the chance). I used to play on ImDiety, a multiplayer server. I  unfortunately gave in to my brothers offer of an x-ray mod/hack/whatever it was, and looted a ton of diamond stuff I found buried in the ground by someone and let's just say I don't play on there anymore :P It was unfortunate, and I regret cheating and I only play on vanilla now because it is the right thing to do and I have no idea how to get mods. I also tried tekkit for a while and I can do some things but that was way over my head for the amount of time I have to play each day.

Now I am really into Minecraft capture the flag (IP: mcctf.com). It is sooooo much fun. 99.9% of the time I play as an archer and I don't want to brag but I am a really good sniper. I play at least a few games a day so if you are looking to find me look there. I also do the parkour on omega realms and I sometimes go on minecraft paintball and I have a captain rank.

I also play a TON on a towny server called Haven (IP: havenmc.com). It is a great server. I own a town called WinterTide and I previously owned a town called Melai, which I sold and since renamed Troy. I also won a real-life Minecraft pick from the server (Like the foam ones they sell) and I think that it is really cool that you can advance so far and also win real stuff. So if you ever need a good server to play on, go here and /msg greeniegirl0506. You are even free to join my town!

I also watch a lot of Minecraft on youtube. I subscribe to and almost religiously watch Lewis&Simon, Duncan, Hannah, Sjin, Sips, and Nilsey from the Yogscast. I also sub to ChimneySwift. Check the other yogscasters and Chim out if you haven't already! They are really funny and entertaining!

So that's it. If you see me on Minecraft anywhere feel free to say hi!

Karpath or Verigan's Map?

So out of anything in the series this is the one gaff that has bothered me the most. Really there is no way for it to be corrected. But in Part 16: A Beacon of Hope, Templar_Adaephon mention's that there is no hope of saving the world unless they had Karpath's map. Luckily they found part of it; and so their quest continued to find the other three pieces. All is fine and dandy. But after they recovered the second fragment in BBQ Bay in Part 25: Visions, suddenly Verigan appears as a spirit and tells the heroes quote, "Heroes! Time is short. You have found a piece of my map... and by touching it, I can communicate with you!" So now the map is Verigan's? What about Karpath? Now many may not care about such a small detail, and ever since then, they have made Verigan the main focus of the map from the rest of the series. But it is just a thing of consistency and for those that have never seen the series before, are a younger viewer, or are easily confused it may seem strange at first until they realize they are the same thing.

Now the Yogscast wiki tries to make it all fit by saying it is called Verigan's map but was written by Karpath.   It also says it is the path Verigan took into the desert during the Sand War. Now that makes the name switch more reasonable. Karpath documented the journey his father took, and named it after the great adventurer. Also, Verigan's ability to communicate through the map can be connected through his death and magic and also the fact that it was is journey. I really like this rationalization, and maybe I just didn't notice the connection like that. I think maybe that was something that needed to be explained a bit better in the series.

Skin Changes!

I don't plan on sleeping tonight since I have to get up at 5am EST, so I think I am just going to add a bunch of posts here tonight. So, again browsing the Yogscast forums... there is some funny stuff on there. But I came across this post first and then was redirected to this thread that was a bit earlier. It was posted on March 9th and is about Simon's changing skin.

Here is what his skin normally looks like

And here is what a Yognau(gh)t found

Yogscast Forums

Some people have been saying that they don't think this new skin change has anything to do with the SoI series. Personally I think it does. It is one of the earlier hints that have been coming up recently, and it is obvious by all the references that SoI is at least on their mind, if they aren't working on it now. I'm not saying that this skin will necessarily be seen in Part 43, but I think that at some point Honeydew will become this bloody demon zombie thing.

What I am really curious about is what will cause Honeydew to look like this? Many of the replies on the thread also mentioned other characters like Swampy_Bogbeard and Nilsey_ having skin changes to zombie-like creatures and clones of Pirate_Tinman. The first thing that comes to my mind is Part 25: Visions where Verigan_Antioch comes to show the heroes what could be if they fail. There were not any zombies, but just the vision of the hoards of Tinmen (or Tinmans :P) sparks my mind.

What do you think? Feel free to drop a comment below :) And I am going to try to stay off the forums... I have been taking a lot from there recently. There is a bunch of new hints coming up all the time, and I tend to miss some and catch up on all the latest gossip there. I have some good SoI content based posts started, and I plan to finish one or two tonight ;)

More Hints for New SoI Episode Coming Soon!

So I was browsing the forums and there was a post by apayn (his forum username) that said to watch the end of "Trucking Tuesday - Spin Tires" and that there is a hint to the possible emergence of SoI. Personally I do not watch the Trucking Tuesday videos or some of the other non-minecraft ones, but I checked it out... and if you watch at 12:29 on the video you see Israphel between the trees. Here is a pic:

Yogscast Forums
I'm not sure if this necessarily means that SoI is coming back, but having Israphel in a non-minecraft game would hint that SoI is at least on the minds of the Yogscast. Also Israphel was used for the "Slender Trucker" bit they did, and it many have just been an issue of not being able to put the real slender man in the video and used their own creation to avoid any copyright/legal issues. I may just be skeptical because I do not want to get my hopes up of a new SoI and be disappointed... they did put Israphel in there for a reason.

What do you think? Is it really a hint for SoI's return in the near future or is it just a comical ending to a video? Feel free to comment below :) And if you find any other cool SoI stuff you would like to share, feel free to comment with that as well.

Here's the Trucking Tuesday vid if you want to check out Israphel for yourself. He is seen at 12:29. Also click here for the forum post about the Israphel sighting.
