How do you want SoI to end?

So I usually do my monthly poll on the right hand side of the blog, but I thought I might do something a little more open ended. So... if SoI could end ANY way that you wanted, how would you conclude the series? Feel free to be as creative as you want, but don't change anything that has happened already. Also if you can, try to start where Part 42: "The Oasis" ended off. Just comment with your own ending. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with! And when SoI starts back up, you can check the endings to the actual one.

So if you are curious here is how I would end it.

So after they get the "healing herbs" for Professor_Webley, I see our heroes going back to help him heal. Now I think that they go to the tomb, and somewhere in there is when KP comes back (yes I do still believe that he is not dead). I think they will then head to Icaria, since they have mentioned this place since Mistral City burned down but they have never traveled there. Here they will meet up with all the good guys that went to the city (those from Mistral, the carnies, pirates, skylords, dwarves, etc) and they will prepare for battle. Now that they have the last map that links to the fragmented map, I think once they realize all the numbers match up they will head to the X. Now I am not sure what the X is (they said early on that it was Israphel's lair but they also mentioned in part 37 that they need to go to the tomb of Peculier's ancestors so idk) but I am assuming it is still the lair. It is really inconvenient that they were close before, but I don't know how they would get to all these places they brought up before battling. But it works in my ending lol. So I want them all to travel in some HUGE pack of good guys back into the desert and then they are met by Israphel, the bosses, and a ton of evil Tinmen. There is a huge fight with hopefully amazing video, and I think that KP, Xephos, and Honeydew will see Israphel fleeing into his lair and chase after him while fighting continues. They follow him through a portal and through more hallways, and corner him in a sort of large throne room, and Daisy_Duke Granny_Bacon, KP's father and mother are there as a hostage (Yes they are all still alive and just captured. Granny_Bacon, although believed to be a zombie, was actually a minion of Israphel disguised as her). After a lot of dramatic dialogue, and some fighting technicalities I have not yet sorted out in my head, KP will kill Israphel. He avenged everyone and saved his love. Honeydew got his bacon as Madame_Nubescu's prophesy said, and in my ending everything is happy. I would also want there to be some hint at the end of Israphel's spirit continuing to keep it in an open ending. A great thing would be to have his spirit after his death go into Xephos. Not only would it work with the skin thing, but also they can tie SoI into Yoglabs, with Xephos already doing some questionable things in the lab. So yeah... my ending in a nutshell.

"How Do I Craft This Again?" Possible? SoI Reference...

So this possible SoI hint comes from some readers that commented on my previous blog post. Jacob Coughenour posted a few pictures in a comment about a date hidden in the newest Yogscast Minecraft parody "How Do I Craft This Again?" As you can see in the photo below, when the book is flipping through crafting recipes, there is the date 31-11-13 (which means 11-31-13 for us Americans) in the bottom right corner of the book.
Youtube - courtesy of Jacob Coughenour
Now I will admit that at first I get really excited at the idea of another possible date leak. But before everyone gets their undies in a twist, just think: How many days are in November? The answer: 30. Now that is depressing... lol

But I think it is a good prank on the part of the Yogscast. They got us... or many of us. The comments were even going wild with people so excited that SoI would be back on the imaginary November 31st.
Youtube - courtesy of Jacob Coughenour
Now given the past videos and cover photos laced with references to SoI, this isn't surprising. But I really don't see how someone can look at that date and automatically think it is about SoI. It doesn't mention SoI, and the crafting recipe on the page is stairs. Why stairs? I would think if they wanted to really make a solid relation between the date and SoI, make the recipe a map or something.

Correction 10.13.13
So thanks to the cube boyz for his comment :) I didn't notice that the frame actually said SoI 31-11-13. I thought it just had a date. So yeah ignore what I said before about it not really being about SoI. But here is a better screenshot in 1080p full screened of the reference. You will need to click on the image below to view it larger because at the size on the blog you can't really see it.

Youtube

But it is just a troll since the 31st doesn't exist... unless it is code for December 1st... lol

Haha but really if you want to see the video and try to find the hidden date for yourself you can check it out down below or on Youtube. And as always if you see anything cool about SoI anywhere, feel free to comment. Links to pics/webpages would be preferred. Thanks!

Yoglabs SoI References

So I was planning on posting this, and also got a comment on my previous poll post from Josoob. The most recent episode of Yoglabs, titled "Raiders of the Lost Archives #1," goes on a mini treasure hunt for a needed piece of machinery for one of Yoglab's researchers. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out right down below. If you don't want any spoilers, watch it before reading on.

So as you can see from watching, they made many references and inside jokes to different people/places/videos, including Shadow of Israphel. The first reference occurs when Simon is looking through random chests and happens upon a book entitled, "Shadow of Israphel Script."

Youtube

The second is a long conversation before they reach the eyeball. Simon sees a chest that says, "Warning SUPER TOP SECRET." Lewis mentions that the chest contains a project that he is working on. Like the dwarf that Simon is, he decides to open the chest. But as the cautious minecraft players I know many of you are, you can see by the red outline on the chest lock that this is a trapped chest. Lewis is protecting whatever is inside.
Youtube
So Simon opens the chest to find numerous pieces of paper with the same title as the book he found earlier. He is surprised to say the least. I don't know about you, but I was really excited to see this chest, and to have another reference to the series.

Youtube
But alas, soon after Simon opens the chest, the trap goes off and everything explodes and lands into a pool of lava. So heartbreaking. He had to dwarf it up yet again, and now all of that work is gone. lol In response to his blunder, he says, “Oh well, well that’s going to delay it another year” and “Sorry everyone, sorry, my bad." Although saddening on a certain level, it was funny for them to make this a part of the episode.

Youtube
I thought it was refreshing to have another SoI reference in a video. It has been a while since the last rumored craze of its return. Also, it has been a little rough after passing the one year mark and now at over 14 months, but I think these little teases help to mend a fan's broken heart. Just kidding. But really it is nice to see that SoI is a thought in their minds. Also in another post that is long overdue that I need to make, someone commenting on the cover photo pages sent me a link to a post that has Lewis talking about the relation of Yoglabs to SoI. I will hopefully get that post done today too. High reaching goals :)

But I hope everyone loved the SoI references in this episode, and I'm hoping for possibly more in Part #2. Once again if you see anything on forums, facebook, reddit, or wherever pertaining to SoI rumored returns, episode secrets, or anything, please comment on any post and I will see it. Links to posts and video titles/times would be appreciated so I can find things faster. Thanks and hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

August/September Poll Results and Posting Updates

Hey all! Sorry if it seems like I have disappeared... I went back to school in the middle of August and that plus working plus trying to have some life and sleep really took my time away. But here are the August September poll results:

It seems like a lot of you have only seen the series a few times, and some admitted to watching frequently but haven't kept track. Personally I haven't counted myself, but I know I am definitely in the 20+ group.

So nothing has changed recently... still no SoI, the forums are pretty relaxed from the small amount of reading I do there, and they haven't updated the cover photo in over two months. So really I didn't miss anything... I have been watching their videos, and I love that they are doing a lot of different maps with other Yogscast members and I am really liking the 241 map Lewis and Simon are doing.

So I will take another browse around and see if I can find anything to blog about. And if you see anything cool while browsing please feel free to comment on any video with what you find and a link/video time if possible. I get email updates for every comment so I will see it! Thanks!

July Poll Results!

So I am going to start posing the results for the polls I post on the blog. I will do a question each month, and then blog the results for you :) So for July's question, most of you would want to be Skylords or Dwarfs! I would probably want to be a Skylord too if I were in SoI. Here are the final results for you to see:

shadowofisraphel.blogspot.com
132 people voted!!! Thank you so much. Just seeing people vote makes me happy and lets me know that you guys are reading the content. Also, I am over 10k views with is super cool, and I usually get about 100 a day now so thanks to everyone that reads this! And thanks to the Yogscast of creating such a great series. I love it so much that I continue to watch and I love writing about it. And I know there are many people that love it enough to not only watch it but read about it as well!

9/8/13: Cover Photo Hidden SoI Return Conspiracy Bonanza!

Posting up a storm today! Third post. I am finding so many cool things on the forums and I have a lot of spare time. But here is somehting else cool, and it has to do with the most recent cover photo uploaded on July 23rd. Now I could just tell you what someone mentioned on the forums, but I am first going to let you look and see if you can see anything cool or unusual. So here is the normal cover photo.

Facebook
Here is some space so you don't cheat... scroll down once you think you see something or give up (yay games are fun!)

Ok anything? Did you look at the stars? Constellations can be really cool. These ones in particular spell out the lettters "SOI." Here it is outlined in proper constellation fashion courtesy of MS Paint.

Facebook (Plus paint)
Pretty cool huh? Just thought I would share it. I didn't find this on my own, actually a user by the name of Visions posted about it on the hidden countdown thread I blogged about like a half hour ago. Thought it was interesting enough to share. If you see anything cool like this or in any of the episodes, comment on any post and I will blog about it if it is something cool :) There must be a lot of hidden secrets!

SAME DAY UPDATE

So yeah... hahaha. checking out the cover photo comments and someone mentioned on the sides of the SOI constellation there are numbers... looks like a 98 on the left and a 13 or 15 on the right. I am thinking the numbers are 9813. Which could possibly be a date. 9/8/13. For me and others in America it looks like September 8th, but in the UK it is August 9th. Which also brings up another thing Visions said in his post. He mentioned the battlements are divided into what he said is 9 or 10 up to the first tower, 8 or 9 to honeydew, and 13 the rest of the way. So 9, 8, 13 again. And to make it seem even more like a date for the return of SoI, Youtube geek week is coming up next week the 4th-10th. AND SoI used to be uploaded on Fridays normally, and the 9th just so happens to be the Friday during geek week. Coincidence? Maybe. But it is all a little too perfect. Here's to hoping next Friday will be the day!

More SoI Updates Courtesy of the Forums

Haha super old from the forums... well April... but I completely missed it. Hannah was commenting on a thread about a possible hidden countdown in the facebook cover photos (Link to my blog post here! ) (Link to the forum thread here!) and had a lot of interesting things to say about the beginnings of SoI and the continuation of the series. I screenshotted her post if you don't want to go to the forums. Here it is:

After reading this it makes me glad to hear straight from a member of the Yogscast that it is being worked on. I don't like subtle hinting... lol And I am glad that from what she wrote that they are working on finishing it so there are not any more delays. That makes me happy that hopefully we will never have to wait over a year for the continuation, but it is also sad that it will be ending soon... :( The first paragraph also made me think. She says that the idea was thought up by her and Lewis, and that they started with the aid of some others and Simon didn't even know in the beginning. What I really want to know is how early this idea started. At the beginning, they claimed that Israphel was actually another person who got on to their server, and they procured the account from this individual. But is that really true? I mean, they were the ones that claimed the other characters were advanced NPCs... which turned out to be a lie. So it is possible that they could have fibbed about this one too, and all of it was of their own creation. I replied to Hannah's post on the forums with a quote of the first paragraph (I think it is on page 27 of the thread) asking this same question. Hopefully she responds, and if she does, I will be sure to post about it. It would be really nice to know.

How Did PirateTinman Get Through the Lava?

So as I was watching through the SoI playlist once again (shocker!) I came across something interesting. You know how Xephos and Honeydew left PirateTinman all alone while searching for Grimjaw's sunken booty? But no worries, he managed to not only get across the lava, but also beat the heroes to the treasure. At the beginning of Part 23, they list different possibilities for Tinman accomplishing such a feat. But I don't think those were the answer. While watching Part 21, I saw this:

Youtube
Yep, a staircase. I don't know how I missed this the last million times I saw this episode but it is right there. So I think PirateTinman found an easier route around the lava. Not as cool or exciting, but more likely.

I only wish I knew where it went to be sure. This is one of the times I wish the old museum server was back up. Ahhh I loved that thing. It was like a SoI fan's dream. I honestly spent like 5 hours straight on there the first time I went on. lol If anyone knows of any good SoI replica maps that go through at least Part 21, let me know. I would love to know if this staircase goes anywhere cool.

More SoI Hints and Hopes for the New Videos

So again I was around on the forums... and I found this post. They noticed that the Yogpod's facebook cover photo has been changing over the past 20 days. It depicts the wall and the breach (pic 1), and then 3 figures appear to walk through (pic 2) who look to be Honeydew, Xephos, and Knight_Peculier. The last one (pic 3) was updated today and shows the rebuilding of the wall.

Pic 1 - Facebook (February 26)
Pic 2 - Facebook (March 7)
Pic 3 - Facebook (March 18)

Now there has been A LOT of hints into the possible return of SoI. There have been mentions of Israphel and the series in various videos (Trucking Tuesday, Tekkit/Yoggit) and they are providing hints on facebook as well. Now unless they are being total trolls and teasing their 4 million + subscribers and viewers, SoI should be making an appearance soon. I kinda like all of these little teases they are putting out. I am getting excited, and I bet a ton of other people are too. But I also think too many will start to irritate people, so they should be used wisely.

Just waiting for some proof... right now it's all talk and no walk. And I don't want to be a bummer on such a happy time, but I really hope they put out more videos this year than in 2012 as far as SoI is concerned. I personally liked the earlier episodes, minus the poorer video quality and the lack of features on the part of Minecraft. Don't get me wrong I love the new episodes that dazzle viewers with amazing video effects and creative editing, but I think going back to their roots would be a smart move. Or at least a compromise. Going from 35 to 6 main SoI episodes in a year is a little drastic, and 2013 isn't looking to bright with it being the middle of March without a single one. And for a time, for this next video at least I will be really disappointed if we waited almost 8 months (or more depending on when it is uploaded) for a 10 minute video. The longest SoI episode is about 28 minutes (Part 38: The Hand). It doesn't have to be that long, but I think somewhere around 18-20 should be the minimum for the wait. Or multiple 12-15 minute videos released let's say every week. I know none of this is my choice or the choice of anyone but the Yogscast, but I hope that they realize (and I mean really realize) that we the viewers are the ones that make their channel and the viewers made them who they are today. They do have a right to post what they want and what they enjoy, but just end the series so their audience isn't just hanging around waiting. Despite all of this negative stuff, I am actually really optimistic for what lies ahead and I can't wait for the next episode!

Update: 4-7-13

On Thursday another pic was uploaded. Here it is!

Pic 4 - Facebook (April 4)
Now this looks like it is recounting the rebuilding of the breach outside Verigan's Hold. Many are starting to speculate when the next episode will come out. Some are saying video 2000, and some are saying once they reach 5 million subs. No matter when it comes there is one fact: It is coming soon.

Update: 4-23-13

On April 23 another one was uploaded. Here it is!

Pic 5 - Facebook (April 23)
So it wasn't video 2000... But the 2000th video wasn't all that bad. They still haven't reached 5 million subs so that may be a thing. Or once the Battle of the Breach is fully panned out on cover photos they will release it. Not entirely sure. Give me your thoughts! :)

Update: 5-7-13

Another one May 7th! :)

Pic 6 - Facebook (May 7)

Another "maybe" hint at a return date... they are getting close to 5 million subs. So get all your friends to sub and let's see what happens!

Update: 5-21-13

Yet another one :) I want the new episode sooo bad! The wall is almost rebuilt :)
Pic 7 - Facebook (May 21)
Besides the 5 million sub guess (they are about 150k away), Their VERY FIRST video was uploaded on July 19th 2008. So MAYBE (another shot in the dark) the new one could be uploaded on their 5th anniversary of the very beginning of their channel. Comment with your thoughts!

Update: 7-23-13

Finally another :) Took a little over 2 months, but this one is funny. I actually caught this one before someone commented... I feel proud even though it is still a week late. Here it is!
Pic 8 - Facebook (July 23)
So 5 year channel anniversary, 5 million subs, and 1 year SoI part 42 anniversary came and gone and nothing. But at least the wall is almost done. Only a couple more photos to go :) Get excited!

Beware: Fake Main Channel Accounts Infesting SoI Videos

Now this doesn't have any direct relation to the SoI series, but it is a recent happening for the Yogscast. As you probably have seen if you watch any of their youtube videos, Many of the comment sections have been disabled. They mentioned the "differently abled" comments in a recent episode of YogNews, and I thought it was so funny how they were acting in a manner that is about half as annoying as the actual comments. One of the things that was brought to my attention was when they mentioned that there were a number of fake real channels that were popping up. I wondered how someone could do this. I know ever since the main channel became popular, there have been scores of youtube names that are basically misspellings of BlueXephos. But that is not anything new. But when I was going to watch my SoI playlist (I made one with only the SoI episdoes... none of that extra stuff) I looked through the comments and found a couple from what at first seemed to be the actual main channel. As I was reading the conversation between the "main channel" and another account, the comments by the "main channel" were not characteristic of something a professional youtuber would post. So I click on the name, and it takes me to a youtube page with a cover head like the real main channel, but no videos. I was legitimately surprised. I screenshotted the conversation here so you can see it for yourself:

Youtube

So just wanted to let everyone know in case you were doubting it, that this fake account thing is really happening. And to anyone that reads this, if you see anything posted from what looks to be the main channel, click the name and see if it takes you to their actual youtube page. Don't believe what you hear straight from the comments. Likely if it is true information it will be posted as an actual video or in additional places like the forums or on social media sites. And if you so happen to be an owner of one of these fake channels, just cut it out. You and other annoying people are the reason the rest of us can't comment. And it isn't fair. It isn't cool, and you aren't being funny by trolling everyone. So please stop.

If you want to check out the episode of YogNews for yourself, you can watch it right here! :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Let's celebrate! I bet you are asking, what for? Well, today so happens to be an important anniversary for the Yogscast. It is the one year anniversary of SoI Part 42: The Oasis. That's right, it has been a WHOLE YEAR since any new SoI content was put out on the channel. If you ask me, it is really surprising. Since I started this blog back in December, I have mentioned the passing months and milestones that came and went without a new episode. I honestly thought that it would take a while for new episodes, but not this long. At this point they better be finishing the whole thing and it should be at least a full length motion picture time wise. Lol. But you know I think the fans should be proud. Even with a LOT of complaining (so much that it is partially to blame for the comments being disabled on the main channel) the fans have survived a year without SoI. If you are reading this you probably love SoI as much as I do, and I know a week used to feel like a year when they first started the series. So pat yourself on the back... you have overcome adversity and survived on the SoI playlist on constant loop for a year. I bet you could probably recite every episode... I am getting close lol ;)

So I hope you all go celebrate. Sorry it is the end of the day and there probably isn't time to go buy a cake... Well, maybe if you are lucky enough to have a 24 hour mart. But celebrate a belated anniversary, and here's to hoping we will at least get an episode but the end of 2013. Cheers!

p.s. I am blogging on my ipad for the first time... Not sure how it will turn out. Sorry for any spelling mistakes or autocorrects!

On My Mind: Questions/Thoughts While Watching

So while I play Minecraft or Don't Starve I obviously have SoI on constant repeat in a playlist. And a couple things have come across my mind as I watched that I am particularly curious about. Nothing really important to the plot, just questions I have about the series that would be really cool if someone could answer. Many of them do not have a concrete answer (since they do not mention anything about it in the videos). I am going to put my mind ramblings down here, so feel free to respond with your thoughts!

  • Why did Jock_Fireblast burn down Mistral?
    • He is evil... and maybe it was just an order from Israphel... but does he have any connection to the city? What led him to be there?
  • I would love to see an SoI spin-off where it is basically the timeline of SoI from the point of view of the bad guys. That would be amazing.
    • Not really a question... but every time I watch the series I think about it and want it to happen more and more. It would be so cool to see the bad guy side and also get more of an idea of the background of the sand and why they want to destroy the world.
  • Does the live streams from Granny_Bacon's funeral and the Adventures of Verigan have anything to do with the SoI plot?
    • I know they were for fun, but do they have any merit in the SoI plot?
  • How old are all of the characters?
    • I know they talk about age in Part 14, but it is all confusing... and I do find it funny if Old_Peculier (or Knight_Peculier now) is really one of the youngest people... and Honeydew is with Granny_Bacon if she is really THAT old.
  • What ever happened to the second Evil_Honeydew?
    • They never killed him... maybe he will come back in Part 43 or later... who knows.
  • So the sand is bad because it will spread everywhere... but it is good because it is sealing metal baddies from coming back and taking over... so which is worse?
  • Why aren't there more girls in SoI?
  • When will SoI come back???
    • hahaha I had to say it ... lol Not a real question, but it is always on my mind.
Here are just some thoughts I had recently that I could remember. Feel free to comment with any answers/opinions! I love reading comments and I will respond promptly. I get about 1000 views a month and I know people are reading, but very few comments. So type down below!

More Skin Changes!

I first posted about the change of Honeydew's skin to a bloody zombie Honeydew a couple months ago. Since then, it has changed back to the normal dwarf we know and love, but more skin changes have been brought to my attention... first I saw this on the YogPod's most recent cover photo, posted by David Wood. Also, GAME6782 commented on my previous blog post with this picture:
GAME6782
They look really similar... even the back is the same. What could this mean? Is Xephos Israphel? Is our hero possessed by the pale-faced man? Did Israphel steal Xephos clothes??? If that is true, then what is Xephos wearing? So many questions and so few answers...

Also some characters' skins have changed into Pirate_Tinman skins. So maybe there are preparations for a battle with and army of Pirate_Tinmans? Or maybe those skins just are too important to show. I am thinking the first because many of the characters with those skins are minor characters in the series.

So what do you think? What is with Israphel's wardrobe change? And why are there so many Tinman skins? Let everyone know your opinion in the comments below!

SUPER late posting... thankfully I didn't miss anything!

Sorry for not posting in like 2 months... but luckily I did not miss anything. I have been sorta following the YogPod cover photos (thanks to comments from you guys!) and I still watch SoI on repeat over and over. I thought summer would bring me more free time, but working is actually more time consuming than school was.

So during the two months I have not been posting, the Yogscast main channel has reached 5 MILLION subs, 2 BILLION views, and from the Yogscast that I follow, Duncan, Hannah, Sjin, and Sips have reached their 1 MILLION subs. I didn't post through all of E3 either. But I did not miss one thing... the return of SoI.

We are nearing the 11 month mark since the publishing of Part 42: "The Oasis." Basically every theory that has come up about the return has failed... lol. So for any of you that like to hold to the hope that SoI is returning on some sort of anniversary or through some sort of calender, you have the facebook cover photos left, and possibly the 1 year anniversary of "Part 42: The Oasis" on July 27th. But personally I think that they will just post it when they feel like it. Even though you would think they are waiting for something good to keep everyone waiting this long... haha

But I will hopefully try to find something entertaining to post during the indefinite hold on SoI videos... maybe episode covers or cool things about SoI I see online. But until then, here is 10 hours of HONEYDEWYEAYEA they posted for their 2 billion video views:

KP May Be Alive After All! (More Evidence)

First, sorry I haven't been posting for awhile. School has really caught up with me and that and work has been taking a ton of my time. Summer is coming and I am going to try to post more. But until then, here is something good I found :) Actually saw this from the videos... didn't get it from the forums this time! lol

I was watching the SoI series through and I got to Granny Bacon's Funeral. Normally, I skip over this and the Verigan Special because they are not that relevant to the plot. But this time I decided to let it play through and went to check my email and other things like that. And around 11:26 in the video time, I hear Xephos say this:

"Knight_Peculier seems to be like immune to the effects of lava, did you see? He just like dipped in it and just didn't get... he's got some sort of power."

So I go back and watch, and at 11:23ish video time I see KP jump, miss the platform, and take a nice swim in the lava. Now I know that this isn't solid proof that KP survived the lava in Part 38: The Hand, nor do I believe that KP's "death" and possible resurrection was even on the plans for the SoI series at the time of Granny Bacon's Funeral. My theory is whoever played KP at the time (probs Duncan?) was op'ed and had a creative mode (if it was even around then) or something similar on from a mod. This video came out on March 22, 2011 and Part 38: The Hand where KP "dies" was uploaded on April 15, 2012. It doesn't seem really believable to think they threw in foreshadowing to an episode that probably isn't done yet over a year before KP died, and over 2 years before he may or may not come back.  But hint to the Yogscast, it would be pretty clever if you did... or even pretended like you planned that to happen.

But if you want to watch the video I will post it down here. And the link below that takes you to 11:23 on the video, so you don't have to fast forward if you don't want to.

Favorite Parts of Shadow of Israphel!

So I was looking for something to blog about... and I surprisingly wasn't in the mood to check the forums, and I didn't want to go delving into the episodes searching for information about some theory or inside tip. So I am going to do something simple: talk about my favorite episodes of SoI. I like them all, but there are some that I think are better than the rest. I am going to put them in chronological order, not in the order of my favorite. :)

Part 3: I DEMAND YOUR FINEST BACON
I really like this part because it is not only hilarious but a lot of new characters are really seen, like Granny_Bacon and Skylord_Jasper. It is also where Honeydew and Granny_Bacon really start to hit it off. Their sexual humor and the references they make while Xephos and Skylord_Lysander left Honeydew and Granny_Bacon to go on the tour makes me laugh every time I watch it. Although I am more of a fan of the Honeybel paring (Honeydew/Isabel_Peculier), I think that the combo of a dwarf and an old lady is more humorous. Also it is the first time they mention any possibility of Skylord_Lysander being homosexual. I think here it was just a reference to his pink carpet, but I like that even though it was probably unintentional it turned into a funny relationship between him and Skylord_Jasper. The tennis scene in the episode is a little boring, but it is kinda funny to watch them thinking they can actually play with snowballs and wooden shovels. Finally the graveyard scene made me laugh with some of those names... and Skylord_Lysander's reaction to Xephos trying to dig up Israphel's grave was priceless.

Part 8: Diggy Diggy Hole
2 Words: The Song

Part 14: The Tale of the Sands
This episode is cool in my opinion mainly because of the cut scene. It is the first real cut scene they did in the series, and was well done. I love that Templar_Adaephon's voice is like Grizwald... lol It also introduces a vital part of the plot: the association of the Antioch family to the story and the premise behind this terrible sand. This episode was also unavailable for a time, when Pirate_Tinman was having issues with the Yogscast and for some reason and made a copyright claim against the Yogscast and had it taken down for a while. The claim was ultimately found malicious and unjustified, and luckily it was put back up shortly after. :)

Part 26: The Mansion
This is probably my favorite part to watch. I have the part where they are talking to Skylord_Jasper memorized, and I love reciting it... "Do you like bees?" :P I also think Um_Bongo is one of the funniest characters, and his signature "Take a me with you!" phrase is so hilarious every time it is said. I also love the idea of a Fungeon, and Skylord_Lysander freaking out at the TNT cracks me up.

Part 38: The Hand
Now like all my other faves this episode makes me laugh, but I also like it for the quality. It is a nice long episode at seconds over 28 minutes. If I could decide, I would make every episode around this length. Also, the incorporation of the little flashbacks while Templar_Enoch's notes are being read is really clever and it flows well. The discovery of his death was funny, and I enjoyed watching them smoke pipes and slap each other with zombie limbs. Also, *spoiler if you haven't seen it yet* Knight_Peculier's death was so shocking the first time I saw it. I literally flipped. And it still brings the same core feeling every time I watch it. It was well planned, and even if Simon and Lewis were informed of how that would play out, their acting in the reaction wasn't too bad and was believable. *Kiss :)

So there are my 5 favorite parts of the series. I found it funny 4 out of the 5 are from the 2011 episodes. I guess I just like classic SoI. :) What are your favorite episodes and why? Feel free to comment ;) I love getting comments, because even though I can track page views (We are over 1000! yay) comments make me feel like people are really appreciating the content. I am going to try my hardest to post more and get the blog out there for Yognau(gh)ts to see!

About Me :)

So I have posted 13 blog posts (oooh spooky! :P) and I never really introduced myself. Now I know you didn't come here to read about me... lol. But since I have all this time, and I never did this, I might as well do it now. I am going to limit myself to my Minecraft life, because my personal life is personal. (One personal detail... I am 20. A lot of people think on Minecraft that I am some little kid, but like I said before, I am in college) :)

So my Minecraft name is greeniegirl0506. I bought Minecraft right after it came out in Beta. My younger brother got it in Alpha and he was playing it all the time. We were also watching the original Yogscast minecraft series at the time. I really wanted to play and not just watch, my brother wouldn't let me build on his, and I had a job, so I got my own.

My current skin - Just changed it recently. Also has headphones on the side and the hood is also part of the hat :)

I am an avid player of adventure maps, and I also like to free build solo and with friends. I sometimes also like to make skins for girls, and I have a whole computer file folder of them. I also love the idea of the Hunger Games servers, but I am not good at finding things and I often try to use my charm to stay alive and offer friendship to others. I played once with ChimenySwift, which was probably the coolest thing ever (next to getting to play with Lewis and Simon if given the chance). I used to play on ImDiety, a multiplayer server. I  unfortunately gave in to my brothers offer of an x-ray mod/hack/whatever it was, and looted a ton of diamond stuff I found buried in the ground by someone and let's just say I don't play on there anymore :P It was unfortunate, and I regret cheating and I only play on vanilla now because it is the right thing to do and I have no idea how to get mods. I also tried tekkit for a while and I can do some things but that was way over my head for the amount of time I have to play each day.

Now I am really into Minecraft capture the flag (IP: mcctf.com). It is sooooo much fun. 99.9% of the time I play as an archer and I don't want to brag but I am a really good sniper. I play at least a few games a day so if you are looking to find me look there. I also do the parkour on omega realms and I sometimes go on minecraft paintball and I have a captain rank.

I also play a TON on a towny server called Haven (IP: havenmc.com). It is a great server. I own a town called WinterTide and I previously owned a town called Melai, which I sold and since renamed Troy. I also won a real-life Minecraft pick from the server (Like the foam ones they sell) and I think that it is really cool that you can advance so far and also win real stuff. So if you ever need a good server to play on, go here and /msg greeniegirl0506. You are even free to join my town!

I also watch a lot of Minecraft on youtube. I subscribe to and almost religiously watch Lewis&Simon, Duncan, Hannah, Sjin, Sips, and Nilsey from the Yogscast. I also sub to ChimneySwift. Check the other yogscasters and Chim out if you haven't already! They are really funny and entertaining!

So that's it. If you see me on Minecraft anywhere feel free to say hi!

Karpath or Verigan's Map?

So out of anything in the series this is the one gaff that has bothered me the most. Really there is no way for it to be corrected. But in Part 16: A Beacon of Hope, Templar_Adaephon mention's that there is no hope of saving the world unless they had Karpath's map. Luckily they found part of it; and so their quest continued to find the other three pieces. All is fine and dandy. But after they recovered the second fragment in BBQ Bay in Part 25: Visions, suddenly Verigan appears as a spirit and tells the heroes quote, "Heroes! Time is short. You have found a piece of my map... and by touching it, I can communicate with you!" So now the map is Verigan's? What about Karpath? Now many may not care about such a small detail, and ever since then, they have made Verigan the main focus of the map from the rest of the series. But it is just a thing of consistency and for those that have never seen the series before, are a younger viewer, or are easily confused it may seem strange at first until they realize they are the same thing.

Now the Yogscast wiki tries to make it all fit by saying it is called Verigan's map but was written by Karpath.   It also says it is the path Verigan took into the desert during the Sand War. Now that makes the name switch more reasonable. Karpath documented the journey his father took, and named it after the great adventurer. Also, Verigan's ability to communicate through the map can be connected through his death and magic and also the fact that it was is journey. I really like this rationalization, and maybe I just didn't notice the connection like that. I think maybe that was something that needed to be explained a bit better in the series.

Skin Changes!

I don't plan on sleeping tonight since I have to get up at 5am EST, so I think I am just going to add a bunch of posts here tonight. So, again browsing the Yogscast forums... there is some funny stuff on there. But I came across this post first and then was redirected to this thread that was a bit earlier. It was posted on March 9th and is about Simon's changing skin.

Here is what his skin normally looks like
Google Images
And here is what a Yognau(gh)t found

Yogscast Forums

Some people have been saying that they don't think this new skin change has anything to do with the SoI series. Personally I think it does. It is one of the earlier hints that have been coming up recently, and it is obvious by all the references that SoI is at least on their mind, if they aren't working on it now. I'm not saying that this skin will necessarily be seen in Part 43, but I think that at some point Honeydew will become this bloody demon zombie thing.

What I am really curious about is what will cause Honeydew to look like this? Many of the replies on the thread also mentioned other characters like Swampy_Bogbeard and Nilsey_ having skin changes to zombie-like creatures and clones of Pirate_Tinman. The first thing that comes to my mind is Part 25: Visions where Verigan_Antioch comes to show the heroes what could be if they fail. There were not any zombies, but just the vision of the hoards of Tinmen (or Tinmans :P) sparks my mind.

What do you think? Feel free to drop a comment below :) And I am going to try to stay off the forums... I have been taking a lot from there recently. There is a bunch of new hints coming up all the time, and I tend to miss some and catch up on all the latest gossip there. I have some good SoI content based posts started, and I plan to finish one or two tonight ;)

More Hints for New SoI Episode Coming Soon!

So I was browsing the forums and there was a post by apayn (his forum username) that said to watch the end of "Trucking Tuesday - Spin Tires" and that there is a hint to the possible emergence of SoI. Personally I do not watch the Trucking Tuesday videos or some of the other non-minecraft ones, but I checked it out... and if you watch at 12:29 on the video you see Israphel between the trees. Here is a pic:

Yogscast Forums
I'm not sure if this necessarily means that SoI is coming back, but having Israphel in a non-minecraft game would hint that SoI is at least on the minds of the Yogscast. Also Israphel was used for the "Slender Trucker" bit they did, and it many have just been an issue of not being able to put the real slender man in the video and used their own creation to avoid any copyright/legal issues. I may just be skeptical because I do not want to get my hopes up of a new SoI and be disappointed... they did put Israphel in there for a reason.

What do you think? Is it really a hint for SoI's return in the near future or is it just a comical ending to a video? Feel free to comment below :) And if you find any other cool SoI stuff you would like to share, feel free to comment with that as well.

Here's the Trucking Tuesday vid if you want to check out Israphel for yourself. He is seen at 12:29. Also click here for the forum post about the Israphel sighting.

SoI Part 43... well sort of.

Check out this video by TwoGuysOneBlock on Episode 43... It is soo funny! Make sure to watch all the way until the end; there is good stuff until the last second of the video.

Do you think they are too critical of the Yogscast or do you agree with what they are saying? Feel free to drop a comment below!

And if anyone knows where to find the Daisy video (if there is one), Please comment with the link. They talk in the video as you will see that they "found" the Daisy specimen. I know there are Youtube comments asking about it, and if there is one it would be fun to see. Checked their channel and couldn't find it.

New Episode coming soon?

So I know we are all eagerly awaiting the 43rd part in the SoI series. With little over 6 months since Part 42: The Oasis (Published to Youtube July 27, 2012), it has been a LONG while since we last saw our heroes. Will they get back to Proffesor_Webley? Will KP rise from the lava? How many days are actually left to save Daisy? So many questions and so few answers...

There may be some hope based on the past. The Yogscast began each year's set of episodes around this time, with the first episode published on January 27, 2011 and the first episode in 2012, Part 36: The Last Letter, sent out one year ago today. So if there is any indication of a rough starting point, it would be around now.

Also in between years there was also a period where the Yogscast would play various adventure maps and doing mod reviews while I assume they were filming episodes and editing them for upload. This is all speculation, but if true this could be some evidence of a return sometime in the near future seeing as they have been recently playing maps such as Fallout, Zombie Apocalypse, The Flood, and various episodes of Yoglabs.

Finally, their Tekkit videos have slowly stopped. I know they met their intended goal of building a jaffa factory, but there is still so much to do on Tekkit and they were still working on the shipping part. I think the postponing of this major project is suggesting something else of equal effort is taking their time... maybe returning to SoI?

Once again, none of this is actually confirmed. I just looked for patterns during the break periods between the prior sections of SoI and looked at their recent upload patterns in terms of Minecraft videos. If anyone finds anything else that may be a pattern or something confirmed, feel free to drop a comment. :)

Youtube - This is what I am watching right now while writing this :) SoI Part 19: The Pirates of BBQ Bay

Valentine's Day SoI Couples

In honor of Valentine's Day, it seems appropriate to discuss the love relationships in SoI. These relationships provide a great source of humor to the episodes, and some even drive the plot of the series.

Honeydew and Granny_Bacon
This couple probably provided the most hilarity throughout their episode arc together. After realizing Daisy_Duke was taken by KP in the first series, Honeydew was in need of a partner. Although she was a little older, Granny_Bacon seemed to like the robust dwarf and reeled him in. She fed him well, and right away they hit it off. A few food related sexual innuendos later, and they were an inseparable pair. Granny_Bacon came to the aid of her lover when he was in need of a golden apple to help heal KP, and Honeydew was quick to his love's aid when she was taken by the cult of Israphel. Unfortunately, death did part this happy couple. Granny_Bacon turned to the dark side, and the heroes had no choice but to kill her. Broken down, Honeydew knew that he must continue on the path of heroism regardless of the loss of his love. But all hope is not lost. Madame_Nubescu told Honeydew that more bacon will await hi at his journey's end.

Honeydew and Isabel_Peculier
She may be a rebound girl or it may be true love, but there is no denying the chemistry between these two during their short arc together. Their relations were rocky at first, but slowly the dwarf was able to win her affection. Having to save Minecraftia and piratey adventures set them on their seperate ways, but only temporarily  They still need to go on out for that drink...

Google Images
Skylord_Lysander and Skylord_Jasper
This pair is super adorable. At the start of the series it seemed as though they detested each other, with Lysander insulting Jasper and Jasper being a complete jerk. But after Part 26, it was known to the world that  these two share a special bond. There have been times before hinting to their sexuality, but now they are finally open with their love. They are a perfect couple.
Google Images

Knight_Peculier and Daisy_Duke
This couple is the backbone of the SoI plot line. If Daisy hadn't been taken by Israphel, then the reason behind this epic quest to save her would be a lot less meaningful. It has been known that KP and Daisy have had a "thing" ever since KP went to live in the tiny town of Terrorvale. He fancied her, but I don't think he ever had a chance to profess his unending love. And if that weren't hard enough on KP's heart she is taken away and it is unknown if she is dead or alive. Will those two ever be united? If they are, will it be in the real world or the afterlife?

SoI possible endings

I was browsing the Yogscast forums, and found a post from January 2012 of possible endings for SoI. I thought it would be interesting to go through them and figure out just how probable they really are almost a year later.

Here is the Forum Post if you want to see it for yourself. :)

"1){most likely}: israphel will be killed by knight_peculier, simon and lewis and save daisy.
The high likelyhood of this is that its the thing that everyone expects and as such has a the highest likelyhood of being true."

So I think that although KP has died since this was posted, this may be one of the most probable endings if he come back to life. This is what the characters intended to happen, and it provides a clean, controversy free ending to the series. The Yogscast might like this because it provides a solid end that won't beg for a return.

"2){highly probable}: israphel will kill knight_peculier... then be killed by simon and lewis
The reason this is a probable plot twist is beacuse for one kp doesn't wear armour/not much and is only armed with his father sword (iron) and as such could be killed as a plot twist."

Now with KP's death this may happen... well, the second part. If they decide not to bring KP back from the dead for whatever reason, it is logical that the Heroes (Honeydew and Xephos) would be next in line to finish the job.

These first two are probably my personal predictions for what will happen depending on what they do with KP. I want something a little more interesting and eventful, but I think if they make the video interesting these endings would work. I just think they are the most logical and require they least amount of controversy, provide a nice end to this almost 2 year series, and satisfy the "good will conquer evil" saying. Now for some of the more out-there ideas.

"3){improbable}: fumblemore kills israphel...with tnt. This is unlikely but still possible, fumblemore has an almost limitless supply of explosives and magic. and as such exploding israphel is possible."

This although improbable, isn't crazy. Fumblemore is not a central character by any means, so having him play a pivotal role by finishing off the bad guy probably won't happen. But in the final battle I guess anyone present could kill Israphel.

"4){possible}: the "sand god" wins and chokes the world in sand [everyone dies...including israphel]
This wuold [would] be the worst possible way to end the serise [series], but when you think  bout it. it is highly possible, i mean they are fighting almost impossible odds and as such is probably could lose and... die."

Now this is sad. It could happen, but who would want to see the good guys lose? Honeydew and Xephos are not called heroes for nothing. If they were to lose, the only good thing I could see come out of it is any survivors could be part of a new season with a resistance overcoming a new order under Israphel. If the Yogscast wants to head down that road, it would be sad but I am all for seeing another season with possibly a darker tone in scene and plot.

"5){improbable}[but i personaly hope this happens]: israphel isn't evil...but is simply possesed by the "sand god" and fights off its influence and joins simon, lewis and knight_peculier to save the world. This is the theory i deeply hope happens and would avoid killing off key characters from potential future series, allowing new teritory to be explored in potential new episodes."

I honestly can't see this happening. I don't think Israphel could change, and it is like a sneaky way out of ending the series filled with sunshine and rainbows. Although world peace is in style, it doesn't fit with the theme the series has been taking with Israphel as the main aggressor. And with all these options this one is the favorite of the author? I think many of these options could open up the door to a future season.

"6){highly possible}: verigan returns after you saw him being burned in the (possible) future.
This could happen beacuse it would simply be good entertainment to watch... using the portal time effect we saw in bbq bay in that room."

This has to do with one of my biggest problems in logic with the series (I will probably make a post about this later). But in short, it is Karpath's map, not Verigan's. Verigan died after the last final battle, and Karpath set up the Templars and this map. So he can't come back... unless the Yogscast wants to pull a "no one ever dies" and just makes up reality. But I am going to rule this one out because it would cause some real explaining to convince viewers that someone that died over 100 years ago suddenly is alive or can use that portal thing.

"7){probable}: the skylords crash the skyhold into israphel killing him.
That would be great to watch, simply beacuse [because] it would look epic."

Like I said, anyone in the final battle could kill Israphel. It would look cool if they could get the animation right, but again I think it would be either the heroes or KP (if he returns).

"8){unlikely}[taking logic from number 5 with possesion]: knight_perclier kills israphel but gets possesed by th sand god and simon and lewis must kill him  .
I realy hope that this doesn't happen beacuse it would be a waste of a good character."

Like the author, I don't think this is probable given the current state of things. But if Granny_Bacon could turn into a zombie, this could happen.

"9){highly likely}:israphel has corrupted daisy_duke. and knight_perculier must kill her too with simon and lewis.
This theory is highly likely beacuse of the fact that we learned that israphel can corrupt people to make them his slaves."

I wouldn't want this to happen, but like the author said giving Israphel's past experience with corruption,  it could be possible. But I think true love would conquer all and even though she is corrupted she could turn back. Even Honeydew will get more 'bacon' at the end of the journey.

"10){no...just no}: simon, lewis acidentaly destroy the world
lol no."

        Like it says, no.

There are more possibilities covered in updates and comments on the thread, but these are the first 10 original ones. There is no way of knowing until it happens or there is a leak, but I think this covers some of the most probable and improbable scenarios.
